I, like many other people, often find myself limiting myself with the concept of "perfection." I am a perfectionist. I have some OCD tendencies. I want to do things my way. And that way should be perfect.
This thought process simply isn't helpful, especially as I graduate college and enter that place people like to call "The Real World."
Life is messy. Life isn't perfect.
I want to understand, accept, and simply BE in this imperfect state of life.
Through this photography project, I am exploring this imperfection by taking at least two pictures a day. I am using both a film camera (Canon Rebel) and digital camera (Canon 40D). I usually end up taking a few pictures with the digital camera, in order to fully utilize the benefits of the instant feedback on exposure, composition, etc.
This idea popped into my head on February 17th. It would have been very easy to say "Well this is a cool idea, I'm excited to do it.... I'll start at the beginning of next month." Alas, since the point of the project is to avoid that style of thought, I shot the first pictures that night.
I am very excited to show you the first images from this project.
